About Istanbul
Istanbul is one of the world's great cities — a metropolis of over 15 million people that straddles two continents, Europe and Asia, separated by the Bosphorus Strait. As the historical capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, Istanbul offers an extraordinary fusion of history, culture, architecture, and cuisine.

The city is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, and the Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque), as well as world-class museums, vibrant bazaars, and a thriving contemporary arts and dining scene.

Istanbul is one of the most visited cities in the world and is well served by two international airports, an extensive metro and tram network, and a wide range of accommodation options for every budget.

We warmly encourage all participants to extend their stay and experience the unique character of this remarkable city.
Climate
October is one of the most pleasant months to visit Istanbul, as the summer heat has passed and the city enjoys mild, comfortable weather with occasional light rain. In early October, average daytime temperatures are generally around 20–22°C (68–72°F), while evenings are cooler, ranging between 13–15°C (55–59°F).
By mid to late October, temperatures become slightly cooler, with average highs of 17–19°C (63–66°F) and lows of 11–13°C (52–55°F), and rainfall may increase from low to moderate levels.
We recommend bringing a light jacket or an extra layer for the evenings, as well as comfortable walking shoes for those planning to explore the city.
Currency & Credit Card Usage
The official currency of Türkiye is the Turkish Lira (TRY / ₺).

Currency exchange offices (döviz bürosu) are widely available throughout Istanbul, particularly in the BeyoÄŸlu and Sultanahmet districts, and typically offer better rates than airport exchange counters. ATMs are abundant across the city and accept major international cards.

Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, shops, and taxis throughout Istanbul. Contactless payment is available at most establishments.

Participants are advised to inform their bank of their travel dates before departure to avoid any card restrictions.
Getting to Istanbul
Istanbul is served by two major international airports. Istanbul Airport (IST) is the city’s main international hub, located on the European side, approximately 45–55 km from central Istanbul, and offers direct connections to hundreds of destinations worldwide. Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) is located on the Asian side of the city, approximately 50 km from Taksim and the İstiklal Avenue area, and serves many international, regional, and low-cost flights.

From Istanbul Airport (IST) to the Venue:
Participants arriving at Istanbul Airport may use the M11 metro line from the airport to Gayrettepe, then transfer to the M2 metro line towards Yenikapı and exit at Taksim station. From Taksim Square, İstiklal Avenue and the venue are within walking distance. The total journey usually takes approximately 60–75 minutes, depending on transfer and walking time. Taxis and ride-share options are also available, with travel times of approximately 45–70 minutes, depending on traffic. Estimated taxi fares may vary, but participants should expect approximately 700–1,000 ₺ or more. Official metered taxis or trusted apps such as BiTaksi or Uber are recommended. Alternatively, Havaist airport buses operate between Istanbul Airport and Taksim, with a journey time of approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on traffic.

From Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) to the Venue:
From Sabiha Gökçen Airport, participants may use the HAVABUS shuttle service, which provides a direct connection to Taksim Square. The journey usually takes approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis are also available, with an estimated travel time of approximately 60–90 minutes. Taxi fares from SAW to Taksim may vary significantly depending on traffic, route, and tolls, but a more realistic estimate is approximately 1,500–2,200 ₺ or more. Participants may also use the M4 metro line from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Kadıköy; however, reaching Taksim by metro requires additional transfers and is less direct than HAVABUS.

Istanbul offers a wide range of accommodation options at all price levels. The conference venue is located in the BeyoÄŸlu district, within walking distance of Taksim Square, which is one of the most central and well-connected areas of the city.
