About the Workshop
Cardiotocography (CTG) is the most widely used method for intrapartum fetal well-being monitoring, yet its interpretation remains subject to inter-observer variability and the risk of missed or inconsistently recognized abnormalities.
This workshop will introduce a research-oriented artificial intelligence method designed to digitize CTG tracings, quantitatively analyze key cardiotocographic features, and evaluate the findings against current clinical guidelines.
The approach is designed to provide an objective and explainable framework that may support obstetricians, midwives, and nurses in recognizing clinically relevant CTG abnormalities and improving the consistency and reliability of fetal monitoring.
By bringing together expertise from artificial intelligence, obstetrics and gynecology, and forensic medicine, the workshop will also consider the clinical and medico-legal relevance of more transparent and consistent approaches to CTG assessment.
